Robert ClubbRobert was born and went to school in Stirling and graduated from Aberdeen University in 1980 with an honours degree in Russian.   4 years and 6 jobs later he returned to Stirling and eventually drifted into IT in Stirling District Council’s library service, leaving in 1987 to gain a Masters degree in Information Technology at Stirling University.

Robert's local government IT career began in 1989 as a trainee programmer for Hamilton District Council working on a variety of corporate systems on an old Bull mainframe.  He worked his way through the ranks to become a Development Manager in 1993.  Following local government reorganisation in 1996, he crossed the technical divide to take up a post as Project Manager within the Infrastructure section of the new South Lanarkshire Council, looking after a variety of Unix and Windows servers.

In 2001, he became the Telecommunications Manager at South Lanarkshire working on a number of large scale projects such as IP convergence, telecoms billing management and GSX.  Around a year ago he jumped back across to the business side, taking up a post as Business Systems Manager for the Finance department, supporting the Council's major Oracle financial, payroll and HR systems.  He recently joined the Improvement Service on secondment to work on the technical aspects of the National Infrastructure Programme.

Robert lives just outside Stirling with his partner and two children.  In his spare time, he is a devoted Stirling Albion fan and enthusiastic website developer.
