CORP 8: Percentage of invoices sampled that were paid within 30 days
Summary definition

This indicator shows the proportion of invoices paid by councils within 30 days.

Why do we measure this?

Prompt payment is important to the cash flow of the many suppliers that work with a council, particularly smaller businesses.

The Late Payments of Commercial Debts (Interests) Act 1998 recognises a general payment period of 30 days unless other terms are mutually agreed. This indicator compares the proportion of councils’ invoices that are paid within this time.
