CORP ASSET 2: Proportion of internal floor area of operational buildings in satisfactory condition
Summary definition

This indicator measures the percentage of gross internal floor area (m2) of operational buildings, using the condition categories as specified in the Federation of Property Societies (FPS) asset management indicators. These categories are defined as follows:

A: Good - Performing as intended and operating efficiently
B: Satisfactory - Performing as intended but showing minor deterioration
C: Poor - Showing major defects and/or not operating as intended
D: Bad - Life expired and/or serious risk of imminent failure

Being 'satisfactory' means assessed as being in Category A or B.

This indicator is deemed important in terms of good asset management practice.

It is important both to staff and service users that properties are maintained in a reasonable condition and that they are suitable for the service provided.
