The community site is designed for researchers and analysts working within Scottish local government, to improve communication and coordination amongst this community. It also aims to support the exchange of research and analysis between local government and other sectors, particularly with academics and Scottish Government analysts.
Benchmarking for Improvement
This community is for facilitators and potential facilitators of benchmarking exercises and benchmarking training. This includes trainers, policy, performance and planning professionals and others in the public sector with responsibility for developing others in the use of benchmarking for improvement. We welcome people from anywhere, not just Scotland!
Collaborative Gain Group
This community provides support to council managers involved in collaborative gain projects across their partnerships who wish to communicate with like-minded colleagues to benefit from good practice and lessons learned in collaborative working.
Community Planning
Community Planning is a process which helps public agencies to work together, with the community, to plan and deliver better services. The intention is to make a real improvement to the quality of people's lives.
CPD Framework for Elected Members Pilot Group
a community to support the 7 Scottish councils piloting the CPD Framework for Elected Members - a forum where they can discuss current challenges and share information, ideas and experience.
Customer Satisfaction with Scottish Local Government
This community is a space to share ideas and information about a specific research project looking at customer satisfaction and Scottish local government. The community is particularly aimed at members of an advisory group to help them share ideas and explore issues arsing from the project. Diagnostic Pathway Programme - Scottish Councils Forum
The Diagnostic Pathway programme was established in Autumn 2007. A toolkit /forum was developed to support Councils going through the programme and to enable them to learn from each other and share useful practice. Efficient Government CoP
A community for people in Scottish Councils and supporting organisations, to work together on delivery of efficiency savings and on providing evidence of these through Annual Efficiency Statements.
esd Toolkit A-Z Scotland Community Site
Over half of all Scottish local authorities, and the One Scotland Portal are now using the outputs of the A-Z/KB project: a shared A-Z (SAZ) of services with a common services list (SSL) and navigation structure (SNL), linked to a comprehensive knowledge base of FAQs and sample forms, which can help councils better deliver services to citizens. GI Strategy
The negotiations required prior to the renewal in April 2008 of the Pan Government Agreement (PGA) whereby central government accesses spatial information, including digital mapping products from the Ordnance Survey, and the similar negotiation for local government's Mapping Services Agreement (MSA) have provided an exciting opportunity to review the way in which the Scottish public sector procures GI products and services.
