Community Planning around equalities in Glasgow 1 Year, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jean Monaghan I’m one of the Development Officers with Glasgow Equalities Partnership. A new Glasgow based organisation which has been set up by the Glasgow Equalities Network. Our remit is to work in partnership with organisations (including community planning, other statutory providers and other agencies) to promote equality in Community Planning and assist other organisations/agencies by sharing good practice.

The development officers cover Disability - Heather McArthur, BME - Maryam Wasim, LGBT Jean Monaghan, Women – Ruth Forrest

At the moment we are gathering information and networking with the equality networks to find out what kind of community engagement that organisations have been involved with.

We would be very keen to meet up with organisations who are involved in community planning.

We are based at the Pentagon Business Centre, 36 Washington Street, Glasgow, G3 8AZ. My e-mail is This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your reply, we would be delighted with further contacts, as were trying to get as much information on how we deliver equalities through community planning.

Every little bit helps

Hello Jean. I've been interested in the Glasgow model for some time and I've been meaning to contact your organisation. We have a Community Planning Equalities Working Group in West Dunbartonshire, which I convene. We are also working with York Consultants in the second phase of the research into Race & Regeneration. I am very keen on the idea of CPPs working together to take forward mainstreaming equalities agenda. We have also been working with Mick Conboy (Equalities Specialist contracted by Communities Scotland to work with CPPs). I will be in touch soon to see if some of us could possibly visit your organisation or perhaps we could organise something where a number of CPPs could meet, possibly as a start to some sort of CPP Equalities Network.
Best wishes,
Liz Tuach

Hi Ricardo

I posted a reply to you a few days ago but for some reason it hasn't appeared here. My number is 0131-244-7360. Full contact details of our team and those of the CP coordinators and others are listed under the Contacts section if you ever want to get in touch with anyone else. I have received your e-mail and have passed it on to colleagues to get back to you.

Thanks

Colin
