ONS: New standard coding and naming methodology 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Office for National Statistics: A new National Statistics standard coding and naming methodology.

The attached document brings together information on a proposal by ONS Geography to implement a new National Statistics standard coding and naming methodology.

In Scotland a 9 character alpha-numeric coding convention has been implemented for statistical geographies.

Can you please pass your comments directly to the named ONS contact but also copy them to me. The Scottish Governments Geographic Information Science and Analysis Team (GI-SAT) and GROS have a video conference with ONS on the 11th September and it would be helpful to be aware of any issues before this date.

Thanks
Shona Nicol

Apologies but the paper is to large to load here - please e-mail me if you would like a copy.
