Facilitators' resources

paper chainAll Communities of practice (CoPs) need good facilitators to flourish. Often compared to the host of a party, facilitators network with and connect other members of the community, encourage participation, initiate and aid discussions and keep the community lively and engaging. As such, they need to be creative, proactive and enthusiastic with good networking skills and the ability to motivate other people.

On this page you'll find a range of material designed to make your life as a CoP facilitator that little bit easier. We have guidance and tips on building your community and encouraging people to participate, tools to ease the admin burden, and interviews with other facilitators who share their own experiences (good and bad) of communities of practice.

There are lots more hints and tips, and lots of facilitators happy to share their knowledge, on the Facilitators' CoP. We strongly recommend that you join.

You'll also find more information about being a facilitator on our 'Guidance for facilitators' page.
