Welcome to the CPD Framework for Elected Members in Scottish Local Government.
Developed by the IS in consultation with local government, the CPD Framework provides Elected Members with professional and personal development opportunities and generates comprehensive, constructive feedback on how they exercise a wide range of critically important political skills.
The CPD Framework is a structured platform for the development of skills and offers the unique option of a confidential, 360 degree feedback tool, which allows Elected Members to gain an understanding of how their behaviours are perceived by others. The Framework also provides access to a range of development and learning materials, including online learning.

Launch Event
The CPD Framework was unveiled at a launch event in Edinburgh on Tuesday, September 21 2010. Copies of all the presentations given at the launch event can be downloaded.
National Elected Member Portal
This portal hosts the CPD Framework Development Programme, which provides Elected Members with access to a wide range of learning materials. Further information on how to access the portal is available.
CPD Implementation Process
Officers co-ordinating the implementation of the CPD Framework in their council can access details of the implementation process and supporting guidance.
