Supporting Scottish Local Government and its partners to deliver better outcomes for communities

Step 7 - Complete PDP

E-mail Print PDF
  • Following the PDP meeting, the Officer(s) conducting the meeting should type up the Elected Member’s Personal Development Plan (MS Word format) and return it to them for agreement and signing no later than one week after the PDP meeting.  Wherever possible, the Officer(s) should look for solutions to the Elected Member’s development needs in the CPD Framework Development Programme.

  • The Elected Member should be given a copy of their PDP and advised that a copy will also be retained by the Officer.  At this stage, the Elected Member should also be given a blank Personal Development Record (MS Word format)

  • Once all the PDPs have been completed, you should notify sarah.gadsden@improvementservice.org.uk of the development areas that have been identified by your Elected Members and how you will address them.  All councils using the CPD Framework will be asked to provide this information to the IS, as it will help identify common development needs which can potentially be addressed collaboratively.
