Dave has been a member of Tayside Fire and Rescue for 23 years. In recent years Dave has been responsible for leading Community Safety and the Personnel department prior to becoming the Assistant Chief Fire Officer in August 2008. His current role of Head of Service Support covers Corporate Services, Personnel Services and Technical Services and he has particular references for Service Planning, Performance Management and Best Value. Dave is also leading on a Shared Services project for Tayside in collaboration with Central Scotland and Fife Fire and Rescue. Out with Tayside Dave chairs the Scottish Equality and Diversity Forum for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Services and is a member of the UK E&D Champions Network.
Throughout his career Dave has consistently engaged in academic studies and has completed all the command courses at the Fire Service College. He has also completed an MBA and is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Dave is also currently participating in the Scottish Government’s Leadership Development Programme.
