Background
After a robust tender process the Improvement Service has contracted with Sensa (Scotland) Ltd to deliver the innovative transformational leadership programme for Delivery End/Operational Managers. The Improvement Service has worked in consultation with Sensa Training to design the programme, which will be delivered via a modular format and involving work-based assignments. The materials are being offered in the form of facilitator training to the Local Government Organisational Development community so that they can enhance and support their current offerings. Future ‘train the trainer’ sessions may need to be delivered to help support the implementation of these materials. The programme covers the following areas:
- Management Effectiveness
- Managing Change
- Providing Excellent Customer Service
- Delivering Results (Performance Management)
- The Essentials of Project Management
- Influencing Stakeholders
- Effective Networking
The pilot facilitator programme will be complete by June 2007 and OD professionals will benefit from modular delivery by experienced consultants with coaching and assessment also incorporated into the programme. The programme will be accredited in conjunction with the University of Edinburgh whose reputation as a forward thinking, best practice organisation is second to none whilst offering practical experience and independence. The IS has absorbed the significant design cost but has requested a contribution of £1000 per delegate for the pilot programme to help with production costs. Individual authorities cover travel expenses.
