Some are freely available, some require registration and/or a paid subscription.   • Audit Scotland

    Audit Scotland Around 200 public bodies in Scotland spend £26 billion of public money each year. The duty of the Auditor General and the Accounts Commission is to check that public money is spent properly, efficiently and effectively.

  • Business Performance Improvement Resource

    Business Performance Improvement Resource An extensive collection of benchmarking and best practice information. The site contains management briefs, articles and reports, case studies, toolkits and research in the field of performance improvement

  • Centre for Local Economic Strategies

    Centre for Local Economic Strategies CLES is a network of organisations involved in regeneration, local economic development and local governance. It undertakes a range of activities including policy research, production of publications, training, an information and briefing service, events and a consultancy trading arm. The site contains news, publications and events.

  • Centre for Public Scrutiny

    Centre for Public Scrutiny The organisation promotes the value of public scrutiny in modern and effective government. The site contains news; a library of prior reviews in topics such as community well-being, education and young people, external scrutiny, health and social care, and housing; a guide to the range of bodies engaged in public scrutiny; and a number of scrutiny-related publications.

  • CIPFA in Scotland

    CIPFA in Scotland CIPFA is the only professional accountancy body which specialises in the public sector. The website contains training and event details, policy and good practice.

  • CoSLA

    CoSLA CoSLA is the representative voice of Scottish local government and acts as the employers association on behalf of all Scottish councils. The site contains guides to legislation, guidance papers, manifesto and policy papers, consultation responses and information on council leadership/political control.

  • e-Government Register

    e-Government Register Contains information about e-Government software and hardware products and their use by UK local authorities. Data about e-Government related services, integration and partnerships is also provided. The eGov Register is designed and maintained by Brent Council.

  • Emerald Management First

    Emerald Management First An online resource centre for managers, providing easy access to management theory and research. The site contains over 3000 full text articles and reviews from the worlds top 400 management journals. Access by subscription.

  • Engage

    Engage This website is intended to encourage and support knowledge exchange between universities, local authorities, and community partners that support better outcomes for people and their environments. Its current areas of focus are safer communities, child poverty, carbon emissions, dementia care and social work.
