Our library contains documents held on the Improvement Service site together with links to documents held externally. A list of websites which also hold publications and information useful to those working in local government is available in our Information Sources section.

Users of the IS site are invited to submit documents that they think will be of value to other site users. Please note that you must be a registered user of the Improvement Service website and logged in if you wish to submit a new document. Documents submitted will not appear on the site immediately but will be subject to approval by our editorial team.

A project at Strathbrock Centre, Broxburn, West Lothian awarded funding of £2.7m from Scottish Executive Challenge Fund, GP's Funding Corporation, West Lothian Healthcare Trust and West Lothian Council, gives people access to a range of services in one place, e.g. doctor visit, prescription pick-up, rent/council tax enquiries and also a community centre with social and educational facilities.
Note of the first Community Planning Network meeting, 28 June 2005. Comprises a broad range of set-up issues, such as outline remit of the group, who should attend meetings, proposed membership and practical management issues, followed by a series of workshops tasked with identifying three priority area for the network's plan.
