Leaflet produced by the Improvement Service about the Peer Review Framework offered to local government whereby a council can request an assessment of any of its services by a team of its 'peers' including officers from other councils and public sector organisations.
Single Set of National Indicators
This document sets out the headline definitions of the 198 indicators which will underpin the new performance framework. This national indicator set has been developed as part of the Comprehensive Spending Review 2007 so that it reflects the Government's national priorities. Performance against each of the 198 indicators will be reported for every single tier and county council Local Strategic Partnership.
The national indicator set will be the only measures on which central government will performance manage outcomes delivered by local government working alone or in partnerships. From April 2008, all other sets of indicators, including Best Value Performance Indicators and Performance Assessment Framework indicators, will be abolished.
Discussion paper on the new outcome-focussed performance framework for local government and its partners. The framework is being developed as part of the public service reform agenda. This document outlines how the framework is being developed, sets out the guiding principles which should underpin it, and the key requirements in the development of performance measures.
This Audit Commission paper introduces standards to drive improvement in data quality. Some of the issues we are aware of, it would be useful for feedback on how applicable the paper is in our own data quality initiative and if we can adopt some of the principles from the paper.
