Our library contains documents held on the Improvement Service site together with links to documents held externally. A list of websites which also hold publications and information useful to those working in local government is available in our Information Sources section.

Users of the IS site are invited to submit documents that they think will be of value to other site users. Please note that you must be a registered user of the Improvement Service website and logged in if you wish to submit a new document. Documents submitted will not appear on the site immediately but will be subject to approval by our editorial team.

Stirling Council Gender Equality Scheme: confirming the actions it will take to eliminate discrimination and promote equality of opportunity for men, women boys and girls in the Stirling Council area. The Scheme identifies what we will do to promote gender equality and challenge discrimination when recruiting and employing people and delivering services directly to our customers or when working with contractors and partner organisations to do this. To access the following two documents: Gender Equality Scheme Action Plan: Appendix A -identifies improvement actions the Council will take in its Gender Equality Scheme for 2007-10. The Action Plan lists priority themes for promoting gender equality and tackling discrimination wherever it may arise. Each theme details the associated aims, key outcomes and actions to be delivered over the lifetime of the Scheme. Education Gender Equality Scheme and Action Plan: Appendix B Stirling Council Children’s Services, as the education authority, have developed a gender equality scheme that sits within the overarching Stirling Council Gender Equality Scheme.
