The Improvement Service and Scotland Excel are joining forces to deliver an established qualification in project management. The course will focus on the practical application of key project management skills in a local government context.
The Professional Development Award (PDA) in Project Management will offer a SCQF level 8 qualification (subject to approval by the Scottish Qualifications Authority). Those taking part in the course will take a work-based learning approach across two units covering project planning and managing implementation.
The PDA is recognised as a valuable standalone qualification and can also provide a pathway to studying for other qualifications such as the Diploma in Management and Leadership. It is particularly suitable for new or aspiring project managers and those in a wide range of job roles which involve an element of project management.
The course will be delivered by Scotland Excel and Improvement Service staff who have significant experience in project management within a local government context. Delivery will focus on practical examples, and delegates will bring a real-life project to work on as part of their learning experience.
The PDA is taught through a mix of workshops and online resources, with the first workshop taking place on 30 August 2018. Further information is available in our flyer or contact Helene Holden on 0141 618 7436 if you would like to discuss further.
