difficulties caused by different geographical boundaries, accountabilities and financial regulations;

the lack of integration and prioritisation of national policy initiatives, and

fragmented funding streams.
The Committee visited East Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership on 23 October 2006 and held a 'round table' evidence session with participants from Community Planning Partnerships on 7 November. It held a further evidence session with officers from the Scottish Executive on 5 December. It is expected to report in the New Year.
