The National Programme for Shared Services (NPSS) was officially launched at an event in Glasgow this month, which also saw the introduction of the National Shared Services Board.
An overview of the NPSS and its direction of travel were presented and local authorities, the Scottish Executive and the Improvement Service provided updates on the scope, plans, key benefits and challenges of shared service delivery projects such as workforce planning, e-planning and procurement.
