Strong and Prosperous Communities - The Local Government White Paper for England was published by the Department for Communities and Local Government on 26 October. The paper is "about creating strong, prosperous communities and delivering better public services through a rebalancing of the relationship between central government, local government and local people". It includes, among other things, proposals in relation to responsive services and empowered communities, local government as a strategic leader and place shaper and specific proposals for the development of Local Area Agreements.
