The Scottish Climate Change Impacts Partnership (SCCIP) has completed work on a research project, ‘A Review of Climate Change Tools for Scottish Local Authorities'. This Scottish Government funded research project has produced a "Climate Change Tools Database" and supporting guidance for local authorities on "Choosing the Right Tools for the Right Jobs". The Guidance and Database will be available shortly on the Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) website.
The main report identifies the strengths and limitations of a range of tools; and evaluates them against their ability to help local authorities meet Scotland's Climate Change Declaration commitments; to perform a variety of jobs; and in meeting the needs and capacities of local authorities. SCCIP anticipates that this research will also be of value to a wider range of practitioners, beyond local authorities.
