A National Gazetteer for Scotland Project Board has been established to oversee operational and business development work. The first meeting of the new Board is expected in November.

Locally, the focus is on CAG data improvements following the publication of updated quality metrics in mid-October. Local Authorities are continuing to make significant quality advances with a number of authorities producing zero errors on the last national data load.

Nationally, planning has begun for the complex BS7666:2006 migration project that will take place over the coming months. Interim migration guidelines have already been finalised, which advise local authorities that need to migrate to the new British Standard before the Scottish Conventions have been updated. Initial consultation with the user community is also underway to help define the migration's technical approach.
