A community of practice based around the Public Service Improvement Framework (PSIF) has been launched on the Improvement Service website.

The community provides information about the framework for public sector organisations in Scotland, and supports those organisations undertaking PSIF by allowing the sharing of information and best practice.

PSIF is a self-assessment quality framework which encourages organisations to conduct a comprehensive review of their own activities and results.  It was launched in September 2006 and the Phase One participants selected shortly afterwards. They are City of Edinburgh Council, Stirling and Clackmannanshire Councils, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue and Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Services.

The Phase One organisations will be holding a closed knowledge sharing event in January 2008. This will be followed by an open event for all Scottish public sector organisations in late February/early March. This will feature the Phase One organisations talking about their experiences.

To learn more about PSIF visit the PSIF page or contact Tom McHugh on 01506 775558.
