A new Scottish Neighbourhood Statistics (SNS) User Group Forum was launched on 11 December and can be accessed here.
The Forum is affiliated to ScotStat, the Scottish Government Statistics Group's official consultation network for users & providers of official statistics.
The site has been created following requests from SNS users for a public forum to be introduced, and is being launched with the following sections:- SNS Blog - This will allow for an open exchange of view and opinions on SNS products.
- Work Group - It is proposed to form a small, informal SNS working group in the new year. Papers relating to the work and findings of this Group will be added here.
- Best Practice - allowing SNS users to share examples of best practice in relation to SNS.
- Events - Important events including major seminars and publication dates and details of November's 'Using Small Area Statistics to Develop Public Policy' Seminar.
- FAQs - A list of frequently asked SNS related questions.
- Reference Material - Important reference documents, look-up tables and archive.
It is envisaged that the Forum will develop over time to best meet the requirements of SNS users and we would encourage those with an interest in SNS to use the Forum and to feed back their comments.
Comments or suggestions that would help to improve SNS or the Forum would be welcomed by John Fraser or Ryan Stewart at the Scottish Government on 0131 244 0442 or by e-mail at neighbourhood.statistics@scotland.gsi.gov.uk. If you would like to be consulted about new or existing statistical collections or to receive notification of forthcoming statistical publications, please register your statistical interest on the ScotStat section of the Scottish Government website.
