Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, Nicola Sturgeon, told the Scottish Parliament on 31 October that Communities Scotland is to be abolished. This is in line with the SNP Manifesto Commitment and will happen by spring 2008. You can get more information from the Scottish Government website. Most of the agency's functions are to be absorbed into the core Government. More information in due course.
