Payment transactions over Clackmannanshire Council's website have reached the £2m mark, three years after the Council launched its online payment facility.

Around 1000 local people a month now use the the Council's website to pay Council Tax, rent and Council invoices.

During the first month of the service, 27 transactions were made totalling £5285. By November 2007, this had risen to 1122 transactions totalling £118,245.

Barry Dickson, Head of Business Improvements and Technology Services for Clackmannanshire Council, said, "This really is a monumental figure. Reaching the £1m mark took almost three years, while it has taken only an additional 12 months to reach the £2m mark. This shows how popular the online service has become."
