Scottish councils make awards shortlist

The shortlist for the MJ Local Government Achievement Awards has been announced, with six Scottish councils in the running for awards.

The awards recognise excellence in local government across 16 categories. The Scottish local authorities included among the 97 finalists are:

  • Renfrewshire Council, which is shortlisted for Best Achievement in Children's Services
  • Fife Council for Facilities and Asset Management Achievement
  • South Lanarkshire Council for Customer Service Achievement
  • City of Edinburgh Council for Pay & Workforce Achievement
  • East Ayrshire Council for Promoting Active Communities Achievement
  • West Dunbartonshire Council for Public Protection Achievement

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on 26 June 2008.
