An Equality Framework for Scotland is being adapted and developed to support Scottish local authorities and their partners with their efforts to promote equalities and comply with their public duties.

This framework, which is being offered by the Improvement Service, is designed to encourage public authorities to focus on equality outcomes. It is structured around three levels of assessment and is based on an approach of critical self-assessment and peer challenge to help maintain common standards of improvement that are nationally recognised.

Key stakeholders are now being invited to get involved and contribute to the development of the Scottish Equalities Framework. If you are interested in further information, please contact Mary McGregor at the Improvement Service on 01506 775558.
