In preparation for Card Management System UAT starting in mid- February, the National Gazetteer has been updated with current data from the majority of local authorities. The target date for local authorities to start using the National Infrastructure is mid-April and it is anticipated that go-live to the public will follow after the summer.
National Gazetteer Progress Update (1-31 Jan 08)
Gazetteer staff in each Scottish local authority are currently filling out a detailed questionnaire to provide information on gazetteer resource issues and other risks to national projects. This information will be summarised and presented to the National Gazetteer Project Board in response to concerns about how local authorities will be able meet increasing local and national demands for gazetteer data and services.
Recent quality reports show that the majority of local authorities continue to make significant quality improvements. Overall, only around 1% of local authority records currently fail National Gazetteer load tests. Data supply frequency is also impressive, again with the majority of local authorities supplying weekly or even daily updates.
