Two projects in which the Improvement Service is involved are among the 68 finalists for the e-Government National Awards 2008. The awards recognise excellence across transformational e-Government projects

The recruitment portal myjobscotland.gov.uk is one of the finalists in the 'e-Government excellence: Shared Services' category. The Improvement Service has provided programme leadership and support to COSLA and stakeholder councils in delivery of this project.

The Communities of Practice platform developed by the IDeA has also made the final under two categories - 'e-Government excellence: Leadership & Professionalism' and 'e-Government excellence: Innovation in strategy on a national level'. Earlier this year the Improvement Service entered into an agreement with the IDeA to allow use of the platform by Scotland-based groups and to enable us to be involved in influencing its future development. The final winners will be announced in January.
