A
list of research and analytical activities currently taking place across Scottish local government, or completed within the last 18 months, has been published by the Improvement Service.
The list provides a short description of the research aims and methods for every activity, along with contact details for the person leading the research and, where possible, a link to the final output. The aim is to provide those working in policy, research and analysis with details of research taking place in other councils in order to improve awareness of work undertaken throughout Scotland and support the sharing of good practice and encourage collaboration.
The newly-published list follows a well-received pilot in January 2008 to examine whether regular updates of this type would be useful.
The list was compiled by contacting all known contacts working within research, analysis and intelligence across Scottish local authorities. We received responses from 24 councils about at least one service area and would like to thank everyone who took part in the exercise.
We intend to update this list regularly so if you would like to add your council's work to it, please contact Louise Jenkins on 01506 775558.
