It is still possible to catch up with the latest thinking in management and leadership thanks to two toolkits currently being offered by the Improvement Service.
'Stepping Stones to Improvement' and the 'Leadership Toolkit' are being offered to Scottish local authorities on a trial basis until early next year.
Stepping Stones to Improvement is a range of management resources and tools designed to improve the performance of managers and staff within councils. It contains information and tools on 15 management topics including change management, communications, leadership and performance management designed to offer 'just-in-time', task-orientated support.
The Leadership Toolkit is designed to help senior managers and leaders operating at strategic levels within organisations understand the bigger picture and how to apply their knowledge and experience to improve the performance of the whole organisation. It contains information and practical tools in 26 subject areas including change management, communication, customer focus, developing people, leadership and planning and decision-making.
Both toolkits have been developed by goodpractice.net and content is regularly updated and refreshed.
Both toolkits can be accessed via our Toolkits section (you will need to go through a short registration process to access the toolkits). They are being offered by the Improvement Service on a pilot basis and we are keen to get your feedback to help inform future decisions relating to requirements, benefits and support. You can send feedback to listen@improvementservice.
