MJ Awards 2009 shortlist announced

The shortlist for this year's MJ Awards has been announced with Glasgow City Council and West Lothian Council named as finalists.

Glasgow City Council has been shortlisted in two categories - 'Best Achievement in Children's Services' for its Intensive Support and Monitoring Services, and 'Service Innovations in Health and Social Care Achievement of the Year' for the e-Router application which uses the Council's existing Blackberry system to send client information to the home care co-ordinator.

West Lothian Council is a finalist in the 'Diversity Achievement of the Year' category for its Diversity Week.

Inverclyde Council has been commended in the 'Reducing Health Inequalities Achievement of the Year' category for the health awareness and improvement programme within St Kenneth's Primary School in Greenock.

Copies of the awards entries from Glasgow, West Lothian and Inverclyde, as well as those for all other shortlisted councils, are available on the MJ Awards website.

The winners will be announced on 25 June 2009.
