Launch of new self-evaluation guide for social work services

E-mail Print PDF
A new self-evaluation approach for social services has been launched by the Social Work Inspection Agency (SWIA).

The new approach builds on the performance inspection programme and has been developed by the SWIA, working with five councils and Changing Lives.

The Improvement Service has worked with the SWIA to map the Public Service Improvement Framework (PSIF) to the SWIA Performance Improvement Model (PIM). It has been agreed that councils using PSIF will not need to complete the SWIA PIM when self-assessing social work services. Instead, the PSIF Assessor will use it as a reference tool to help social work services translate the generic questions in PSIF into a social work context.

You can download the Guide to supported self-evaluation: building excellent social work services from this website.
