East Ayrshire Council has become the latest Scottish council to launch the Customer Service Professional Qualifications, a new initiative developed by a consortium of Scottish Councils led by Renfrewshire Council and the Improvement Service.
Councillor Hugh Ross, East Ayrshire Council's Spokesperson for Management and Resources joined Chief Executive, Fiona Lees at the launch together with a number of employees including staff from Libraries, Planning and Building Control; Onsite Services and Registration who will be taking the Qualifications.The nationally recognised qualifications are certificated by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and endorsed by COSLA.
Councillor Ross said: "As always, we want to continue to work and invest towards providing our customers with quick, efficient and transparent services across the whole of the Council. By offering our employees the chance to gain this qualification, we believe we are taking an important step in ensuring that our customer service is the best possible."
In extending her good wishes to the candidates, Fiona Lees , Chief Executive of East Ayrshire Council added: " The Council has a long standing commitment to providing high quality services to meet the needs of all of the people we serve and the introduction of the Customer Service Professional Qualification is further evidence of that commitment. "
