South Lanarkshire and Falkirk Council have joined the PSIF (Public Service Improvement Framework) Partnership with effect from June 2009. This brings the number of participating councils to 19 within a wider partnership of  26.

The Public Service Improvement Framework is a self-assessment framework which encourages organisations to conduct a comprehensive review of their own activities and results. It promotes a holistic approach to continuous improvement by incorporating a number of established organisational improvement tools, including EFQM Excellence Model, Investors in People, Customer Service Excellence and Best Value principles.

For further information on PSIF and the benefits of using the framework within local government and the wider public sector in Scotland, please contact Jane O’Donnell, PSIF Project Manager on 01506 775567.
