There are a number of developments to report around the Public Service Improvement Framework (PSIF).

  • The PSIF Partnership is delighted to welcome the Highland Council and the Richmond Fellowship Scotland.
  • The PSIF Board and Scottish Libraries Information Council (SLIC) are pleased to announce a joint agreement on the use of the PSIF and the SLIC Public Library Quality Improvement Matrix. A news story providing further information on this was published in March 2009.
  • A practical workshop is being held in Glasgow on 31st March in conjunction with Social Work Inspection Agency (SWIA) on using PSIF and SWIA's Performance Improvement Model (PIM). The emphasis of the workshop will be on reducing duplication of work due to the mapping carried out, how to facilitate assessments with existing evidence in place. Further details are available from Sarah Gadsden on 01506 775570 or Jane O'Donnell on 01506 775567.
  • The PSIF Partnership has been working closely with Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) to create a framework document for PSIF organisations which illustrates the clear links with QMIE (Quality Management in Education). Again, the emphasis is on reducing duplication between the frameworks and aligning our work following the Crerar Review of 2007.
  • The Community of Practice now has 75 members within Scotland who are accessing examples of sharing leading practice and making requests for assistance via our site at http://www.communities.idea.gov.uk/c/895153/home.do.
