The communities of practice (CoP) platform developed by the Improvement and Development Agency, and offered to Scottish local government communities in partnership with the Improvement Service, has picked up the award for collaborative working at the GC Awards 2009 run by Kable and the Guardian newspaper.

The GC Awards were set up to reward excellence in public sector IT and the use of technology to improve public services.

The IS would like to thank all those using the platform within Scottish local government for their contribution to its success. There are now over 60 Scottish groups sharing their knowledge and experiences, and providing advice and support on the platform.

Further information on the CoP platform can be found in our Communities section.
