The communities of practice (CoP) platform developed by the Improvement and Development Agency, and offered to Scottish local government communities in partnership with the Improvement Service, has been shortlisted in the GC Awards 2009 run by Kable and the Guardian newspaper.

The platform has been shortlisted in the 'Collaborative Working' category. Also shortlisted in this category is the Forth Valley Online Anti-Social Information Sharing (OASIS) system, which the IS provided financial support to though its Innovation Exchange fund.

The GC Awards were set up to reward excellence in public sector IT and the use of technology to improve public services. For more information on the Awards, visit the GC Awards 2009 website. The winners will be announced on 20 May 2009.

Further information on the CoP platform, which is now used by over 60 Scottish groups, can be found in our Communities section. More information on the Online Anti-Social Information Sharing system, including highlight and outcome reports, can be found in our Library. An OASIS case study is available on the Forth Valley GIS website.
