Judges at the COSLA Excellence Awards were impressed by the range and quality of Renfrewshire Council's projects and the Council received five silver and three bronze awards. The Council also chose to recognise a joint Improvement Service/Renfrewshire Council project - the Customer Service Professional Qualifications. This SQA-certificated qualification, developed by a consortium of Scottish councils under the Improvement Service and Renfrewshire Council's lead, was recognised as a positive example of effective shared services and collaborative working in practice. Representatives of the project team from Renfrewshire Council, the Improvement Service and SQA (pictured) were presented the award by Councillor Watters.
Renfrewshire Council leader, Derek Mackay, and Chief Executive, David Martin, also attended. Each acknowledged the outstanding achievements of Renfrewshire's projects and urged on all concerned to even better success at the 2010 COSLA Excellence Awards.
