Version 4 of the Menu of Local Outcome Indicators has now been published on the Improvement Service website. An accompanying ‘Good Practice Note' has also been published for use alongside the Menu.
David Hume, Chief Executive of Scottish Borders Council and Chair of the Project Board for the Improving Local Outcome Indicators Project said: "The updated Menu is a significant improvement on what we previously had. We have revised the indicators, based upon feedback and by applying robust criteria; we have improved the presentation; and we have provided detailed information about every indicator."We have also produced a ‘Good Practice Note' to accompany the Menu. The intention is that this will be a practical resource, which can be used by Community Planning Partnerships to strengthen how they use indicators to track progress made in delivering the outcomes set out within their SOAs."
The work in updating the Menu has been overseen by a Project Board, which includes senior representation from all statutory Community Planning partners (Councils, NHS, Police, Fire, Regional Transport Partnerships and Enterprise Agencies). In addition, it also includes Scottish Government, Audit Scotland, COSLA and the Improvement Service.
Community Planning Partnerships are invited consider applying the Updated Menu, as part of the continuous improvement and ongoing refinement of their Single Outcome Agreements.
A copy of the Menu, Good Practice Note and covering letter can be downloaded from our Local Outcome Indicators page.
