The Scottish Executive is inviting responses to its consultation on its shared services strategy, which was published in May.

A Shared Approach to Building a Better Scotland: A Consultation Paper on a National Strategy for Shared Services sets out the Executive's decision for shared services in Scotland. Part one puts forward the case for shared services and places the strategy in the wider public sector reform context. It also highlights areas that can benefit from a shared services approach and includes examples of initiatives already underway.

Part two of the documents sets out a broad vision of what could be achieved, guiding principles for taking the strategy forward and details of a programme of actions to support implementation of the strategy.

Responses to the consultation paper are invited by 28 July 2006. Details of how to respond, a respondent information form and consultation questions are available on the Scottish Executive website.
