PSIF Progress Report - June 2008 PDF Print
Since the launch in March 2008, Phase Two of the Public Service Improvement Framework (PSIF) is well underway.

The updated framework for Phase Two has been finalised and is now available, along with guidance, to all PSIF participants. A full scale equalities review of the existing framework is currently taking place to ensure that PSIF fully integrates with Equalities Duties and leading practice.

The PSIF team has conducted and planned briefing sessions with nine Councils, and Quarriers, a voluntary sector organisation. Those organisations currently moving forward with PSIF are North Ayrshire Council, North Lanarkshire Council, Glasgow City Council, West Dunbartonshire Council, Inverclyde Council and Includem. These organisations are also joined by the Phase One participants, the City of Edinburgh Council, Stirling Council, Clackmannanshire Council, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service, Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service, Learndirect Scotland (now Skills Development Scotland), and West Lothian Council as a partner on the PSIF Board.

A presentation on PSIF was given on the 13 June 2008 to The Reducing Burdens Action Group, as part of the evidence and information gathering process. This group was established to investigate and explore several recommendations post Crerar Review.

The PSIF is also being highlighted in all Single Outcome Agreement meetings with councils as the most robust method of supporting achievement of local and national indicators in the short and medium term.

The PSIF team is also working with the Shared Services programme to ensure that those organisations which are using both programmes find that the objectives and deliverables are smoothly aligned with no duplication of effort required to achieve the aims of both programmes.
