The Benchmarking for Improvement Toolkit was developed in response to research findings which revealed that lack of adequate training is one of the biggest barriers to benchmarking among local authority managers.

The toolkit provides a set of resources for people interested in learning more, or supporting others to learn more, about benchmarking. The toolkit includes publicly accessible reading material including references to additional resources and further support and information. It also includes full support materials for trainers at Scottish local authorities to facilitate or organise in-house learning and development events.

The tookit was developed with financial assistance from the Improvement Service's SMART Fund. It can be accessed via the Toolkits section on this site.
