Invitation to a project showcase and lessons learnt event PDF Print

As an organisation that encourages innovation and sharing of ideas, the Improvement Service set up two small funds in 2006 - the Innovation Exchange Fund and the Smart Fund - to support special projects that it was believed could have a useful impact on delivery of public services. All projects were selected for their potential for learning and outcomes to be taken up and built on by others in the public sector.

The IS is hosting a showcase event where, through a series of short presentations and workshops, you can learn more about the range of projects, meet the people behind them and hear about the successes, the challenges and the lessons learnt.

A diverse range of projects were successful in their applications for these funds, including:

  • community planning partnerships looking at :
    • effective partnership management
    • empowering the client in provision of their own care programmes
    • integrating addiction services
    • linking anti-social behaviour management across the public sector
  • ecological projects including :
    • sustainable energy in housing
    • carbon footprinting, awareness and management
  • trusted trader programme formulation
  • supporting elected members in managing their workload
  • shared physical assets management
  • improving benchmarking activities

The event will be held from 9.30am-2pm at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 25th April 2008.
