Perth & Kinross Council has launched a mobile sports pitch in an effort to deter young people from antisocial behaviour by providing an alternative outlet for their energies.

Twenty-five Scottish councils plus other public sector partners, were represented at an event at COSLA’s Conference Centre, Edinburgh on 2 June 2006 focused around the Customer First Programme’s Developing a Common A – Z and Knowledge Base project.

The role of innovation in the improvement of public services is one of a range of research papers and reports relating to local government improvement published within the past two weeks.

The Scottish Executive is inviting responses to its consultation on its shared services strategy, which was published in May.
