Creating Smarter Cities 2011, 30 June-1 July 2011, Edinburgh
Creating Smarter Cities 2011 sets out to understand the experiences of municipalities that have signed up to the smart city agenda by studying the efforts made to create a smart people-based innovation network between cities and research centres. Speakers from the Amsterdam Innovation Motor, the cities of Manchester and Edinburgh; IBM, Microsoft and CapGemini; Edinburgh Napier University, Aristotle University, the Free University of Amsterdam, City University of New York, Karlstad University, MEMORI, TU Wien, Turin Polytechnic, and Manchester University; the EU, Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Government, will look at how cities and research centres can be smart in delivering electronic services to citizens, and explore what are the high-level issues emerging and the way ahead for cities in Europe.
