Elected Member Update, October 2010
Welcome to the first quarterly IS Elected Member Update. This has been designed to keep you informed of key developments and topical issues that will be relevant to you in your role as an Elected Member.
Events
Improving Scotland's public sector estate - 23 November 2010, Edinburgh
Improving fixed asset management across the public sector means better public services for Scotland, but only around half of local authorities have a council-wide strategy for asset management. This conference will address all of the major issues of concern to facilities, property and finance managers and related professionals, debate real solutions and find the best ways forward.
Making shared services a reality - 26 November 2010, Glasgow
Given the savings required by public sector organisations, greater innovation and cross-sector collaboration will be required. Is the Scottish public sector in a position to meet this challenge? This conference will provide delegates with the knowledge to make shared services a reality, presenting case studies of shared services successes balanced by examples of the difficulties faced by organisations across the UK and Scotland.
