Workshop: Embedding an outcomes approach in tackling poverty and community regeneration - 31 March 2011, Glasgow

Over the past year, SCR and the IS have been working on a project that aims to help partnerships embed an 'outcomes approach' in their local regeneration / poverty work. This workshop summarises the key points of learning gained from the hands-on work that has been carried out with five local partnerships. It will include input both from the main partners involved in the design of the project and the local areas that participated and will be an open and honest discussion of both the successes achieved and the barriers encountered in seeking to embed outcomes–focused working.

Lean Government - 28 April 2011, Edinburgh

'Lean Government' refers to the application of 'Lean' production principles and methods to identify and implement the most efficient and value added way to provide government services. Lean is basically about getting the right things to the right place, at the right time, in the right quantities, whilst minimising waste and being flexible and open to change. This event will offer some insight into the many applications of lean thinking in the public sector.
