Events

A roadmap for change: making Christie a reality – 7 October 2011, Edinburgh

In June, the Christie Commission report produced a roadmap for the future delivery of public services with service integration, a focus on preventative measures and personalisation at its core. Underlying all of the proposals is the need to improve outcomes. This Holyrood magazine conference examines the importance of the Christie recommendations within the context of the impending Scottish Government's Spending Review in October and explores how new working relationships and partnerships within the public sector can help deliver better outcomes for less.

The Planning Interchange development economics workshop – 28 October 2011, Edinburgh

This workshop will explore the issues faced in the deliverability of development schemes. Presenters include Graeme Reay, a Chartered Surveyor and head of one of RICS Scotland's professional boards, Murray Collins of North Lanarkshire Council, and Sandy Telfer, partner with DLA Piper. The speakers will outline the approaches taken, the issues faced, the barriers found and the opportunities presented. This practical event will appeal to planning practitioners.
