SLAED, the Scottish Local Authorities Economic Development Group, has published its Strategic Plan for 2019-22.
Scotland’s local authorities deliver a significant contribution to the economy through helping to build better places, improving quality of life, and making areas more attractive to investors. SLAED is focused on connecting colleagues across professions to maximise the economic impact of councils and to ensure service design and delivery is joined up.
The new plan sets out SLAED’s aims, objectives and priority actions for 2019-22 and includes responses to Brexit, delivery of City and Growth Deals, and inclusive growth. A significant area of work will be to form closer working relationships across local government partners, including SOLACE, COSLA, the Improvement Service and various professional groupings, in order to address opportunities and challenges.
